The somnOO Group announces the sale of the Ibis Budget Marmande hotel, which was held as a joint investment. This transaction, carried out via the third-party market, follows a review of assets conducted by somnOO.
For its entire portfolio, somnOO continuously analyzes the alignment of each hotel with its investment strategy, evaluating criteria such as architecture, location, brand potential, and others. Following this analysis, the group decided to accept an offer received from a third party for the Ibis Budget Marmande.
With this sale, somnOO secures the liquidity expected by its financial partner, while enabling somnOO to reallocate its resources toward new acquisition targets.
Lars Backhaus and Christian Rousseau, founders of somnOO, stated: “We are very pleased that the Ibis Budget Marmande has found a new owner, whose ambition and plans will ensure the continued development of this property. For the teams at the Marmande hotel, their jobs are secure and will be retained by the new buyer upon the effective transfer. We thank them for their collaboration over the years.”
Founded in 2014, somnOO owns and operates a portfolio of over 60 hotels in France and Germany. Its European “owner & operator” strategy is structured around two cycles: cycle 1 as an operator and minority shareholder, and cycle 2 as an “owner-operator” with majority ownership. This positioning—combining property ownership and operational control—ensures resilience, alignment of interests, and long-term value creation.
